REFUNDS
Any item/s purchased from the The Solent Quilter where lengths are cut to the customers requirement (including items cut off the bolt, Quilt Kits, Gift Cards and any sale items) are not eligible for a refund.
For any eligible items, customers have
30 days from when they receive their order to return it. If any items are received back after this time will not be accepted for a refund. Customers must email me with your order details and reason for requesting a return to hello@thesolentquilter.co.uk for authorisation
If the return is authorised then to be eligible for a refund, it must be returned not having been used, not smell of smoke, or been marked, washed or cut. If they are not returned in the same condition as they were sent out, then unfortunately the refund will not be processed.
Once the return has been inspected and is satisfactory customers will refund you as quickly as possible (within five working days) and you will be notified once this is completed. All refunds are returned to the original payment method used within 30 days. Refunds vary depending on your bank, but typically take 5- 10 working days to show up in your account.
Customers are responsible for paying their own shipping costs for returning any item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. We recommend using a tracked service as we are not obliged to refund you for items that do not reach us.
A particular note of caution to buyers about purchasing fabric & quilt kits online
Buying fabric online can be difficult because fabric colours can appear different to each individual depending on what display they are using. Quilt kits are cut to order and are therefore non refundable.
I do my very best to ensure that photographs represent accurately the fabrics that form part of the quilt kit on my website. However, as I say, due to differences in display screen/smart phone/tablet technology screen settings, the colours of the fabric may differ in slightly between photos and the physical product. It can slightly impact on the fabrics colour, warmth, tone, brightness, vibrancy etc. I am not in control of these factors so customers need to be aware of this before they buy so that expectations can be managed,
Customers claiming a refund due to slight variations in colour tone or vibrancy is will be rejected. If you, the customer, have any concerns/ questions regarding the fabric colours, must contact me before an order is placed. For a fee I can arrange for some fabric samples to be sent in advance if required. The time this takes to reach the customer can vary depending on their location.
Regarding Pre-Washing Fabrics
Quilt Kits are priced and cut to the fabric requirements in the pattern and it is provided to you the customer, assumed that the fabrics will not be pre-washed. Although Art Gallery Fabrics have one of the lowest shrinkage rates in the industry 1-2% if you have pre-washed your fabrics and it leaves you with not enough fabric for piecing requirements for the kit then The Solent Quilter is not responsible or liable for providing you with additional fabric. Pre-washing is a discretionary decision of the quilter and therefore will not be accepted as a reasonable case for a refund.
EXCHANGES
I only accept exchanges for incorrect items being sent in error /or for a damaged/marked product. I am unable to accept returns or exchanges because of customer error, change of mind or buyer remorse.
Please check your fabric as soon as you receive it. I endeavour to ensure that no mistakes are made when preparing orders but in the rare occurrence that an error has been made by The Solent Quilter, (receiving the wrong fabric, or the fabric has been marked or damaged in transit) then please email hello@thesolentquilter.co.uk for authorisation and send a photo of the wrong/ damaged item. I will try to replace the wrong item/ damaged item, however if the item is no longer available an alternative can be offered to the customer or a refund.
If an exchange for an incorrect order or damaged product has been accepted then you have 30 days from when you received your order, to return it. Please obtain proof of postage and email a photo of the receipt to hello@thesolentquilter.co.uk with your name and order number. If any items are received back after 30 days it will not be accepted for a refund.
